Interview with DP DA Don

This is the second interview for our online magazine.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR PROFESSION?
What I like most about my profession is having the ability to say what’s on my mind.  I also like how the people can embrace and relate to my lyrics.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THIS?
I have been rapping since the age of 13.

ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?
At this point in my career, I’m not happy with where I currently stand, although I am happy with the direction I am going in.  I appreciate the love and support that I have received from the fans thus far.

IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME, WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?
If I could go back in time, I would have focused more on my career and goals with more seriousness, giving it 100 percent from day one.

HOW HARD DO YOU PUSH YOURSELF?
I push my team and myself extremely hard; we have no days off.  Everyday is a productive day for us, weather is writing, recording, researching, networking, etc.

WHEN ARE YOU COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH YOUR WORK?
I am completely satisfied when I get the approval and feedback from my fans.

WHAT'S THE MAGIC FORMULA FOR SUCCESS?
The magic formula for success is belief and faith in the man above, support from family, hard work, dedication, determination, drive, will power and persistence.

WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO LATELY?
I listen to all type of music but what is playing in my CD player as of today is Yo Gotti, TI, Young Jeezy, Wale, and of course myself.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE ALBUM BY ANOTHER ARTIST?
My favorite album by another artist is All Eyes on Me by Tupac.

WHAT SONG OF YOURS ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF? WHY?
I’m proud of everything I produce but I’m most proud of ‘We Turnt’ Up’ and ‘Hit tha Town’.  I am so proud of these songs because of the reaction I received from my fans, the streets, and people in my surrounding circle.

ARE THERE ANY SONGS YOU'VE DONE THAT YOU WISH YOU HADN'T?
No.

ARE THERE ANY PROJECTS THAT YOU’RE WORKING ON?
I recently just finished my first mix-tape, (HT1) Hood Therapy Vol. I, hosted by Trak-A-Holikahz.  I am currently working on HT2 and promoting my label MTF Cartel Music Group.  I also have two other rap artists in which I am developing and working hands on with.

IS THIS YOUR FIRST ALBUM?
No, this is my first mix-tape, be looking out for my debut album in your near future.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU?
What’s next for me is promoting my company and mix-tape, performing shows, starting a clothing line, recording music videos and continuing to make music that the people approve.
